Phone Calls with Gmail

This feels weird. I take some time off and writing stuff like this feels totally foreign to me. Just like all those Japanese people I saw in Hawaii. I think there were more Japanese people there then American. Especially at Pearl Harbor which I thought was really weird. But I digress…

While I was out Gmail rolled out another sweet feature: The ability to make calls from within the US to anywhere in the US and/or Canada for free. To go along with that, you can make most international calls for as cheap as 2 cents a minute. That’s insanely cheap if you are familiar with long distance rates.

Those chaps at Google are something else. If you have a preexisting Google Voice phone number it will seamlessly integrates into Gmail. (Side Note: That main number which you can call to contact us here at Bro Council, it’s via Google Voice) If you don’t have one, you can still make the free phone calls through some kind of magic or something. How it works is not important. That is does work is what we need to focus on.

Here is an article from Lifehacker that gives you 8 clever ways to take advantage of free calling in Gmail.
