Apparently Pennsylvania's road crew needs a little help in identifying what is and isn't roadkill. According to the Times Union and their reader Sean McAffee, PennDot (the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation) mistakenly painted over a dead raccoon along Franklin Road in Johnstown, Pennsylvania earlier this week.
According to a PennDot spokesman, the road crews actually know to avoid the roadkill, but couldn't stop the equipment in time or turn around, so they decided to paint over the raccoon, remove it, and come back later with a second machine to fill in the gap.
Nice work, PennDot!
And in a related note, here's a video of some other construction workers trying to tame a loose-cannon concrete buffer. Enjoy.
