Name: Shannon "Shan Man" Sullivan
How long have you been growing your beard?: Hard to say how long I've been growing my beard. I've had facial hair for 15 years but it's been all shapes, sizes and colors. This is the longest it's ever been. It's kinda hard to pinpoint the exact time-frame.
Why are you growing your beard?: I've always liked having a beard and beards in general. I enjoy being unique and not looking like everyone else.
Have you won or placed in any competitions?: I've been in 5 competitions and won all 5, including a Best in Show win and the Novembeardtv Beard off Internet contest where I defeated the likes of Jesus, Santa Claus, Incredibeard and a host of other celebrities.
Do you belong to any beard club?: I'm a proud member of the FXBC-Fredericksburg Beard Coalition. We pride ourselves on helping out the community and helping charities. We do our best to promote facial hair growth.
Is shaving anywhere in your future?: Oh Hell No! Shaving has never crossed my mind and never will! Bearded for life!
What is the best compliment your beard has received?: That is the GREATEST beard I've seen in my life. Also, I want to live in your beard.
Are there any competitions that we can find you at in the near future?: I have many competitions coming up, and also will be judging a few.
If you could give any advice to a group of people, what would it be?: What I would tell people about life would be to be yourself. Be unique and be an individual. Love, respect, and trust are the words I live by. Give these to others, and you will receive them in return. Be a positive person and someone that people enjoy being around. Lift people up instead of dragging them down. Make a statement wherever you go. Never forget the people that have helped you along the way.
