I met the Bro Council at the beard championships in Lancaster and I wanted to get a womans perspective on beards. I'm thinking about growing one and I want to know what kind of beards are more attractive and if they're even attractive to girls in general.

Hi Brett,
Beards are definitely a matter of taste. Some women aren't really into them, some women can't get enough of them. I used to fall firmly into the former category, but over the last few years, I've definitely been migrating into the latter. I'll share some of my reasons below.
1. Beards are hot.
Or, at least they can be. If youhave the ability to grow a beard with decent coverage, go for it. If your beard is, at best, scraggly, patchy, or entirely localized to your neck maybe it's not for you. Think of Justin Timberlake, Conan O'Brien, or Ray (obviously) as your beard role models - men whose appearance improves with a nice beard, and think of Brad Pitt or David Beckham as examples of men who are extremely attractive...UNLESS they have beards.
2. I'm an extremely practical individual, and beards are hot.
No, I promise, those two things really do go together. I live in Vermont. It gets really cold here. A beard is like an awesome built in face-warming device...and I'm a little jealous of it.
3. Beard trimmers.
A lot of men have to shave every day, or at least fairly often, to keep their beards at bay. Shaving is ridiculous. And even more ridiculous? Those little bloody pieces of toilet paper or tissue that you use to cover the inevitable nicks, but then ultimately accidentally get stuck to your pants when you're shaving in a hurry. Better than shaving? Beard trimming. Quick, easy, and less likely to cause bleeding.
So, there you have it. Beards can be really attractive...or not. Try it out and see how it goes. The most important thing is to be happy with it yourself.
