So I was taking a break from practicing drums with my band. I was in the kitchen eating by myself. Well this woman was over because she is friends with my singer (who is a woman). She was in the living room talking to the other members of the band, then I heard her say, "You're so far away" from behind me, and then just started asking what I was eating. It just seemed completely random because she has been over a couple of times before and we never had that many one on one conversations. So was there a reason why she came into the kitchen, or am I reading to much into it.
Emily's Take: I don't think that you're reading too much into it. She... Read More
Hello Ladies of Bro Council,
Is Valentine's Day Weekend a good time to find single women to date?
-Patrick
Emily's Take: I think that it is as good as any other day. Single ladies tend to hate Valentine's Day (or Singles Awareness Day) so getting a date for that night might actually be a little easier. However, the fact that I'm getting this e-mail three days before the big holiday probably means that most single ladies (at least the ones I know) have already made plans to celebrate the day with their single friends. I'd approach this group of ladies with caution - watch them for a bit first. Do they seem to be enjoying themselves or... Read More
Hello rachel -
I met the Bro Council at the beard championships in Lancaster and I wanted to get a womans perspective on beards. I'm thinking about growing one and I want to know what kind of beards are more attractive and if they're even attractive to girls in general.
Thank you!
Brett.
Hi Brett,
Beards are definitely a matter of taste. Some women aren't really into them, some women can't get enough of them. I used to fall firmly into the former category, but over the last few years, I've definitely been migrating into the latter. I'll share some of my reasons below.
1. Beards are hot.
Or, at least they can be. If youhave the ability to grow... Read More
Hi Rachel,
I used to work with Ray and I want to know what it's likefor you to work with him and the rest of the crew at "Bro Council HQ".
Is there a glass ceiling for women there? Do you guys really have platinum covered toilets? Can you help me to understand?
Thank you,Matt
Dear Matt,
While I telecommute from my luxury office in scenic northern Vermont, I am more than happy to clear things up for you regarding Bro Council HQ. I'm just going to go ahead and assume you watch the Superbowl...I mean, you are reading this site, right?
Allow me to set the scene a bit for you:
It's February 1st, 2009. Jennifer Hudson is warming... Read More
Hi Rachel,
Why does it always seem like girls like to watch sports way more when you're "casually dating" than when you're "in a relationship"? Is it just to get you reeled in or does something change with hormones or something after the relationship is established?
Thanks,Jack.
(I had to call in some reinforcements on this one) - Rachel :)
Janella says:
Whoa Jack,
First of all, one must be extremely, EXTREMELY careful when invoking the name of the hormone goddesses....they have twitchy tempers and will not hesitate to smite one who fails to comprehend the depth of their complicated doings.
That being said, I can tell you exactly why... Read More
Dear Rachel,
I heard you want to marry g. love in the podcast. Why do you want to marry him. Is it the cool factor?
Quayum The Man
Dear Quayum,
When I read your email, I instantly Googled "meaning of names." The first 5 results did not have Quayum in the database. Finally, I found this wealth of name-meaning knowledge that informed me that you have, among other things, "an interest in the deeper aspects of life." This really put your question into perspective for me, as I was just sitting here thinking that my unrequited love for G. was, frankly, entirely uninteresting to anyone but myself. Thank you, Quayum, for... Read More
