Miss Teen South Carolina Caitlin Upton can breath a sigh of relief; she now has a contender for the worst ever beauty pageant answer. Miss Philippines USA contestant Joanlia Lising was asked which of her five senses she would have if she could only keep one, and she confounded the audience with her response. Here's the beginning:
If I have to pick out of five senses, I would pick seeing.
OK, good start. Sight is a great response, but then her follow up went completely astray:
Because seeing is the best sense that we can ever see because seeing is believing and believing into who we see is perfect. And out of all the senses seeing could really...be wonderful because thank you. That would be it.
Wow. And she looked so confident and poised when she walked to the microphone.
