GQ Says Sweats Are Okay, Slackers Everywhere Rejoice

From A Girl's Perspective: Sweatpants On Guys

Seriously GQ? In a collaboration with MSN Living, Gentleman's Quarterly is actually telling guys its okay to wear sweats in public. And not just to the gym. Or maybe to the pharmacy when you have swine flu and want people to know to stay at least 50 yards away from  you; actually in public. For real. They even go so far as to suggest that bright green sweat shorts are okay. Follow this advice closely gentlemen: there is nothing acceptable; fine or anywhere close to okay about bright green sweat shorts beyond the confines of your own home. Ever.

On principle, however, GQ telling guys that its okay to wear sweats selectively would be fine, if guys would look at the photos and follow the fashion advice; like "layer selectively," and "choose a crewneck over a collared shirt." And it would also help if you know, every guy in America was a GQ model who worked out six days a week at the Gym of Ryan Gosling. But we live in America, folks; an America where real men eat double downs and buy their clothes at CVS and stay up until midnight playing Xbox (okay, that was me) and wear the same sweater for five days straight (okay, that was me again.)

Regardless, telling guys its okay to wear sweats in public is not going to result in more guys looking like this:

Keep your sweats at home, bros. Please.
